AIIM's recent State of the Document Channel survey points to a number of strengths kicking off 2009...
During this year (2008)...
- 92% of those surveyed were profitable
- 43% reported net profit of 10% or more
- 77% reported an increase in the number of customers vs last year
While optimism in the channel is strong, it does seem to be weakening in the face of the recession. Each year we ask this question -- "Compared to last year, I expect my revenues THIS year to ... increase, decrease, stay the same..."
- 62% of VARs expect revenues this year to be up -- but this compares with a 79% positive answer last year.
- 60% of Service Companies expect revenues this year to be up -- but this compares with a 67% positive answer last year.
- 69% of Systems Integrators expect revenues this year to be up -- but this compares with a 83% positive answer last year.
Free copies of the full survey are available to AIIM trade members. For a copy, companies beginning with the letters A-M should contact Amy Michalski; companies beginning with N-Z should contact John Newman.
