For those who haven’t seen it yet, we have a brand new survey available on Enterprise 2.0 technologies – the first real quantitative analysis I’ve seen of Enterprise 2.0. You can access the survey (90 pages!) by going to the link below; all that is required is registration.
Market IQ – Enterprise 2.0
While I’m at it, thought I would remind readers of some of our “greatest hits” from previous surveys and presentations. No charge for any of them; enjoy. Some of them are on the AIIM web site (free, but requires registration or log-in) and some are on Slideshare.net.

Cool (and insightful) blog. Subscribed! :-) I would love to get your thoughts on my new thesis: ECM + Enterprise Search + Social Computing = KM 2.0, which begets a more agile and innovative organization.

Lawrence:
Glad you like the blog. So you asked for thoughts on your new thesis statement. How could I resist? I am actually giving a talk on KM2.0 at the Enterprise 2.0 show in Boston this June. My comments are prefaced with the disclaimer that I have not heard or read anything more about your statement. Taken blindly, I have to say I only partially agree. I am not sure if we even need a term like KM 2.0, but since it is popping up - my take on it would be KM2.0 = KM + Enterprise 2.0 (social software). You include Enterprise Search and ECM in your equation. I do not see these as part of KM 2.0 - but rather KM 1.0 (so to speak). ECM and search have been components of the technology side of KM from the outset. Sure they have evolved and improved over time, but they are fundamentally still about the same basic functionality or value statement to KM. Where I do so "new life" from a technology standpoint in KM is with Social Computing - or Enterprise 2.0. These new approaches to collaboration are just that - new enough that I think they warrant a call out as potentially new components to a KM strategy and system. Key among the differentiators for me are the ad hoc manner with which they can be deployed and embedded emergence.
As for your final clause: :which begets a more agile and innovative organization.", I could not agree more. That is of course assuming that the organization already has in place a culture and practices that embrace these capabilities - and that is no small assumption. Culture and inclination to things such as agility, openness and managing innovation as a corporate asset and process are not easy to come by, and very powerful enablers of KM 1.0 and 2.0. In deed, our just published Market IQ on Enterprise 2.0 offers statistical evidence that existence of such a culture accelerates the adoption and understanding of Enterprise 2.0 technologies. If you have not already read the report (especially section 6), I humbly suggest you do. I think you will find much in there that will resonate with your thesis statement.
