Moreq2 – Status Report

Link: AIIM Knowledge Center Blog: Moreq2 – status report.

This won't be relevant to all readers of the blog, but for those who either track industry standards relative to records management or for those vendors who sell RM solutions in Europe, there is an effort underway to update the Moreq specification.

MoReq2 is destined to become the guiding principle used by ERM system suppliers and developers to provide required functionality, and by outsourced records management service providers to define their service offerings. The standard also promises to revolutionise ERM procurement, auditing and training schemes around the globe. MoReq2 will be used by a broad spectrum of public sector and commercial organisations when preparing requests for proposals, evaluating existing systems and preparing records management training materials. It will also provide a valuable teaching resource for academic institutions.

Last year, the DLM Forum developed a scoping report for the European Commission (EC) on the next generation of the Model Requirements for Electronic Records Management specification, known as http://www.dlmforum.typepad.com/. AIIM Europe runs the DLM Forum secretariat, and our role is to support the day-to-day operations as the General Secretary of the DLM Forum. The DLM Forum is currently planning how to set up and govern a Moreq2 testing regime. This is being coordinated by Doug Miles, Managing Director of AIIM Europe.
